Building Tomorrow’s Engineers: Grunwald & KSHS Girls School STEM Sponsorship Introduction
On International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), we celebrate the innovators and problem solvers shaping our world. At Grunwald Ltd, we’re taking our commitment further by partnering with The Learning Partnership to sponsor the entire Year 7 group at KSHS Girls School over the next five years.

Year 7: Rocket Cars
Students work in teams of four to design and build rocket cars under authentic engineering constraints. They’ll optimise aerodynamics and weight using bio sustainable materials. This hands on project cultivates creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking—foundational skills for any future engineer.

The Roadmap: Year 8–11
- Year 8 – Autonomous Vehicles: Programming and sensor integration.
- Year 9 – Hovercraft: Thrust, lift, and material science.
- Year 10 – Robotic Arms: Precision control and automation.
- Year 11 – Drones: Flight dynamics and systems engineering.
Key Benefits for Students and Industry
- Collaborative Networks: Strengthen ties between industry and local schools.
- Early Career Exposure: Inspire students to pursue engineering through real world challenges.
- Pathways to Employment: Introduce work experience, apprenticeships, and direct links to Grunwald.
- STEM Skills Development: Equip the whole year group for future technical roles.
Why It Matters
By investing, Grunwald enables every student to explore STEM subjects, build confidence, and see engineering as an accessible, rewarding career—especially for young women currently under represented in the field.
